In winter I’ve passed by Col de Combe Blanche (or Col de la Vattey) a lot ot times on my XC skating skis, but it’s a while ago since I have climbed it on the bike. Today I decided to give it a go on my new MTB. After leaving Vesancy I noticed to my surprise that the road wasn’t closed for motorised traffic and a few cars and motorbikes passed me, but at the first junction the red circle sign mentioned an end to the noise makers. As usual it was a tough ascent as the initial slope is well above 10%.
I stopped a few times to try out my new tripod but as my digital camera only has a single photo self trigger, it was a bit tricky to get good photos while cycling. It was very quiet in the forest and I only met a race biker at the top of the col.
